These conversations will delve into the convergence of rhythm, movement, and expression across different art forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Afternoon Sessions:<\/strong>&nbsp;Transition from theory to practice under the guidance of esteemed practitioners Ewa Benesz, Cathy Marchand, and Julia Varley, known for their work with Grotowski\u2019s Theatre Workshop, the Living Theatre, and Odin Teatret, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants will actively engage in improvisational exercises designed to revolutionize their understanding of corporeality, spatial interaction, and audience dynamics.<br>This unique workshop offers an immersive experience in which the interplay between scholarly insights and hands-on practice deepens the participant\u2019s mastery of improvisational performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>HOW TO APPLY<\/strong><br>Twelve scholarships will be awarded to actors, contemporary dancers, and singers for this workshop. To be considered for selection, candidates must submit their application by&nbsp;<strong>January 15, 2024<\/strong>&nbsp;via email (&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:sonia.bellavia@uniroma1.it\">sonia.bellavia@uniroma1.it)<\/a>&nbsp;or through the<strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/improcomp.org\/?page_id=4054\">ImproCom website<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Completed Application Form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Curriculum Vitae (CV): Include details of your education (completed or in progress) and any professional experience in the theatrical field. The CV must contain your personal information and contact details.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please attach a signed consent for the processing of personal data, specifically for the purposes of this workshop.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Personal Statement (maximum of 2 typed pages): Share your motivation for applying and provide your perspective on the following questions:<br>\u2013 What role did improvisation play in theater and\/or dance in the second half of the twentieth century? What is its role today?<br>\u2013 How do the body and voice synergistically relate in theatrical improvisation practice?<br>All application materials must be submitted by the stated deadline. Late applications will not be considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SELECTION CRITERIA<\/strong><br>Applications will be reviewed by a dedicated panel, which will compile a list of successful candidates based on the following primary criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Knowledge of the Theory and History of Theatrical Improvisation in the 20th century<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previous Experience and Specific Training: Participation in performances, workshops, and seminars related to theatrical improvisation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Motivation: Alignment with the workshop\u2019s training objectives as expressed in the personal statement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additional consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate a willingness to participate in knowledge-sharing practices and engage in cultural exchange and dialogue.<br>The selection committee may contact candidates directly for interviews to gain further insight into their profiles and interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Notification and Confirmation:<\/strong><br>Selected candidates will be notified via email.<br>Successful applicants must confirm their participation within 5 days of receiving the notification.
