Friday 14 April<\/strong> Saturday 15 April<\/strong> Sunday 16th<\/strong> Registration is compulsory and numbers are limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n REGISTRATION and information:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n A DAY FOR FRANCA RAME<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n After almost three years of suspension of its face-to-face educational activities, the free University of Alcatraz, located between Gubbio and Perugia, reopens with a new formula focused on groups and events. As the first activity of this new season, it presents a two-day event entirely dedicated to the personality of Franca Rame, organised by Fondazione Fo Rame in collaboration with Fondazione Barba Varley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The idea of the two Fondazioni confronting each other and joining forces is rooted in the direct relationship between the artists they represent. These artists had several occasions to cross paths in their activity, which made them protagonists of a revolutionary theatrical season of the twentieth century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Fondazione Barba Varley – established to actively promote the commitment to the causes and values that motivated Julia Varley\u2019s and Eugenio Barba\u2019s life in Odin Teatret – and Fondazione Fo Rame – created to keep alive the memory of the initiatives and activities of Dario Fo and Franca Rame – clearly show affinities of purpose and common characteristics. The great sensitivity towards all types of marginalisation, the firm belief that theatre is a form of politics, the capacity to believe in the impossible and the will to pursue goals represented by social and cultural solidarity, are just some of the features that distinguish both Fondazioni.
